ACOUSTICAL TEST TECHNICIAN/LABORATORY ASSISTANT

 Western Electro-Acoustic Laboratory, a division of Veneklasen Associates, Inc., is recruiting for a Test Technician to provide support for the Laboratory Director. The Laboratory is located in Santa Clarita, California.   Job duties will include:

• Perform Laboratory ASTM acoustical tests/support field testing

• Record specimen parameters for test reports

• Write test reports

• Follow written procedures for calibration of equipment

• Record results of calibration procedures

• Help develop new test and calibration procedures

• Modify transmission-loss filler wall, as needed (remove sections of gypsum board wall)

• Take delivery of and log in test specimens

• Participate in and support acoustical field tests

• Prepare equipment patch cords for lab and field equipment

• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment

• Field work may include night field work

• Assist lab director in general maintenance of the lab facility

 Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:  

• High school graduation, or the equivalent, required; one to two years technical training preferred; Associate’s degree or Certificate in Electronics highly desirable; valid California Driver’s License required. 

• Desirable experience would be one year of experience in one of the following: engineering environment, or related fields; acoustic field / laboratory testing environment
